Steep's Season Eleven Slate Set!

The remainder of Steep's Season Eleven programming is now in place with the announcement of their upcoming Midwest Premiere of Adam Bock's The Receptionist. The Receptionist premiered in 2007 at the Manhattan Theatre Club and enjoyed a critically acclaimed, extended sold-out run. His work has been produced extensively and his play The Thugs won the 2006 Obie Award for Playwrighting.

The production will be directed by Steep Artistic Associate Joanie Schultz who helmed past Steep hits In Arabia We'd All Be Kings and A Brief History of Helen of Troy. Her work with Steep has earned the company numerous Jeff awards and nominations, including wins for Best Ensemble (Arabia) and Best Actress (Helen), and nominations for Best Director and Best Production (Arabia).

Season Eleven will close with the previously announced Midwest Premiere of Deirdre Kinahan's Moment. Moment will be directed by Steep Artistic Associate Jonathan Berry. Jonathan is one of Chicago's most sought-after directors and has helmed some of the most talked about shows in Steep history. His 2011 hit Festen was one of the year's toughest tickets and was named one of the Top Ten Shows of Year by Timeout Chicago. His Steep production The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui was named one of the Top Ten Shows of 2007 by Timeout Chicago and one of the Top Ten Shows of the Decade by Kelly Kleiman of WBEZ.
