Steep Theatre was founded in 2000 by three actors with a desire to work in an open, ensemble atmosphere and a passion to produce an intense and immersing theatrical experience.
Their sights quickly shifted from stringing together a couple of shows to becoming an important, contributing fixture to the Chicago theatrical community and a theater known as a home for innovative ensemble work.
Nine years later Steep Theatre has built a strong foundation in their own performance space by expanding their numbers internally as well as their following from the community. Steep's continued critical acclaim has made their name a familiar one to numerous publications both local and national.
