I have worked as a Stage Manager, Carpenter, Production Manager, Technical Director, Electrician, and Chimney Sweep for over 20 years at theatres in Michigan, Arizona, and Illinois. Several of those theatres are still standing. To those survivors of those theatres that were not completely destroyed in those accidents of "mysterious" origins, AND where and when the statute of limitations has expired, I offer my sincere apologies. I was young.
I have settled on Lighting Design because it is so very much easier than the other disciplines. Except sound, but I'm not a total geek. This allows me to concentrate on honing the skills required for my day job. I manage a large theatre space at a large university. My goal is to become the creepiest old guy hovering the shadows of an old theatre ever. Every chance I get, I practice cynical scowling and muttering about "back in my day..." |
